1Piece2Ways: Not Your Basic A-line Skirt
If I have to pick my favorite ‘70s trend, and combine it with a modern twist, it has to be the button-front A-line skirt. Another must-have transitional piece for this Spring season, and luckily, strong iterations in denim, suede and corduroy have been spotted everywhere. The A-line design is by far my favorite silhouette; the slightly flared bottom is flattering for any body type. The exposed button detail also makes it not your basic skirt, yet versatile to stylize for different occasions. There are numerous of different ways you can stylize this skirt, simple yet stylish. Today, I am going to share with you two of my go-to looks that work for almost any day situations. Let us begin!
Dressy and Chic
If you live in places like LA, the weather changes at least 5 times a day, then I’d suggest let’s play the layering game. Create your transitional look by layering different pieces together is not only stylish but also can be super functional when the weather changes suddenly. Opt a button-down shirt with a fuzzy lightweight jacket, tucking in the shirt helps to accentuate the waistline (my favorite tips to give). You can also make a statement move by adding a pair of printed/patterned ankle boots, in my case, my favorite last Fall splurge, the snake booties. Surprisingly, they are now my go-to basic in my closet. Everything just looks better with these boots on, don’t you agree? Haha.
Comfy and Cozy
Transitional weather means warm during the day and chilly at night. An oversized sweater is the perfect choice to combat the cold, complete the look with a pair of over-the-knee or ankle boots. To add a bit of edginess, you can also slip on a pair of fishnet socks for a cool girl look.
